Dress Rehearsal - Guest DT, Wendy

Wendy's Christmas "make" of Dress Rehearsal is so joyful!  The colors, the sparkle, and the embellishments give it such a candy-kissed look!
Wendy always manages to sneak in a little something extra on her cards and this one is no exception.  This close up gives you a sense of the way she adds texture and interest to her cards.
Keep your eye out for Wendy's final project with us on January 6th's group post.

Gentle Baby -- Cathy

As we are in the final week before Christmas, I thought this image would be a wonderful card to post.  If you have last minute cards to create, this is a pretty quick one to color up.  It's called Gentle Baby.

I am off of work this week, so I'll be working on a card for our January Challenge!
Happy holidays to you and your family.

SCOTTY MISTLETOE C - JEN

I think that there is no other little dog that signifies Christmas better than a Scottish Terrier, and this cute little one is called Scotty Mistletoe C from the store in the Animals category.

To create his little tartan coat I printed the image on white cardstock, then cut away the coat section.  A scrap of tartan cardstock was placed behind the image.  I gave him a gold bow, perfectly festive for the season.

Click here to see some more close-ups on my blog.

Only one week left of the silly season, enjoy your last minute shopping, and remember to spoil yourself with some images from the STORE too.

Keep Crafting!

Musical Bell Fairy - Guest Designer ~ Amy Young

How stunning is the color combination used by today's Guest Designer, Amy Young?  She's used Musical Bell Fairy, one of the four winter fairies to create a positively gorgeous card for the holidays!

Amy added a wing and masked the bottom two layers of the dress.  Her coloring of the fairy's dress and bells inspired me to think outside of the holiday season and consider using this stamp for a bridal card. Wouldn't this make a precious card for a wedding or bridal shower?  Amy won our October Challenge; you can see more of her work on her blog, A Thousand Sheets of Paper.

This is Wendy's first card as our Guest DT member this month and isn't it a beauty?!?  The image is Paper Doll Kelly from the Beauties collection in the ADFD Shop.  Love all of the texture and the carefully placed beads and sparkle.  The way she kept the red moving around the card is so visually appealing!

Wendy won last month's ADFD Challenge and has three more cards in store for you this month.  You can see more of her work on her blog, Wendylynn's Paper Whims.  So glad to have you as part of the team this month, Wendy!

Make sure you pop back over the next two days, our Guest DT folks have cards coming up!
Happy creating!

Birds for Bree - Jen

This beautiful image, called Birds for Bree reminds me of my childhood in Durban, South Africa, where we'd visit Central Gardens to feed the pigeons.  Dad would buy a packet of seed from the vendor sitting at the gate, and as soon as you'd opened the packet the pigeons would descend from the surrounding statues and monuments,  and sit on your shoulders and hands to feast.

I coloured the image using my Copics and Graph'It markers, and a white gel pen.  I kept the card clean and simple, as I wanted to showcase the image, without any fussy distractions.

Thanks for allowing me to share this darling image with you, please take look at the other amazing images in the store here.

Keep Creating!

Mama Dreams - Jen L

My friend Tammy is only a few days away from giving birth to her baby girl, whom she and her hubby have decided to call Hayley.  I chose to showcase this image from the A Day for Daisies store, and it's aptly named "Mama Dreams"

My card has the corners punched, and a peach coloured cardstock mat.  The embellishments are a sentiment, popped up on foam blocks and a portion of the flowers on the image, resized, coloured and popped up on foam blocks.

Thanks for dropping by today!
